The Friar Minor sees himself as:

A man of faith in Jesus Christ, called by God, within the Church, to deepen his baptismal commitment, by joining a community of men who vow to observe the holy Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, communally and individually, according to the Rule and spirit of St Francis of Assisi. He places a special emphasis on an intense search for God, on brotherhood, on minority, (i.e. poverty, powerlessness, humble service, solidarity with the poor) and on mission. His mission is focused upon building up on earth God’s Kingdom of truth and justice.
